AI: Impact on Healthcare
Artificial intelligence has made great strides in health care and has improved the health care of millions of people around the world. Previously, it took ten years or more to identify and develop a vaccine against a disease; because the data was collected from multiple countries, aggregated from different geographies, and pulled from multiple sources.
AI: advances in healthcare
AI and data aggregation have helped tremendously during the pandemic. In about a year, a vaccine against the Corona virus was identified and developed, due to the exponential growth and advancement of technology and AI. The aggregated data and application of AI ultimately saved the lives of millions. The pandemic was a prime example of how AI has impacted and continues to impact the healthcare industry, improving the quality of life for millions of people around the world. Details of a patient can be made available from various sources just by using facial recognition. This speed at which information is available has proven to be very beneficial, especially in times of emergency.
AI: challenges
However, as with any technology or any new enhancement, there will be some challenges that come along with it. In a lot of artificial intelligence, there is the challenge of bias, which has worked positively in many cases, but also negatively in many cases.
Another big risk in AI is that it requires feeding you a lot of data. For example, when you feed various data about a particular type of person, there is a high probability that you will only recognize that particular type of person. On the other hand, health-related information is strongly protected. So we still have work to do to get AI to produce better and deliver Accurate information.
Emids: Journey So Far
24 years ago, Emids started primarily as a digital engineering company and went on to support healthcare businesses, including payers, providers and life sciences from pharmaceutical companies. Emids roots are in creating apps and products that these companies use to help patients. Emids: future plans
Emids recently hosted India’s largest ‘Healthcare Hackathon’ and solicited over 2000 different ideas to help the average patient get access to better healthcare solutions. This was done as part of the healthcare movement that the Indian government has been actively promoting. Emids is solely focused on healthcare, and over the next five years, Emids intends to continue creating value in people’s lives by bringing together payers, providers and life sciences companies at the intersection of the digital engineering and health care, in order to provide better solutions for the well-being of all.
