We Tested These Peloton and NordicTrack Bikes Head-to-Head

Investing in a piece of home fitness equipment is a great decision. Weights, cardio machines, and recovery equipment are expensive, and you’ll want to get the best of the best if you’re spending your hard-earned money. But there is a big difference in what might be best for your neighbor or the guy in the office who keeps talking about his newest equipment and what really is best for you. You. Everyone has different bodies, different fitness levels, and even different goals that can make the perfect fit for one person a bad experience for another. When you are making a decision about what you want, it helps to know all the details. That’s why the editors of Men’s Health put the latest and greatest fitness products to the test against comparable gear in our new Best Fit video series.

A sturdy stationary bike can be the centerpiece of your home exercise station, and for some people, it’s all they need for a good workout at home. We took two of the best options on the market, the Peloton Bike + and the NordicTrack SS2i, and compared their best qualities by having two very different mh editors take bikes for a spin.

Adam Mansuroglu, a style and team contributor, and Marty Munson, Health Director, want different things from their cycling experience at home. Adam is more of an occasional jock, hoping to find a variety of fun and engaging attractions for his workouts a few days a week. Marty, on the other hand, is a USAT certified triathlon coach who has completed 30 races. You are looking for a bike that gives you high-level features and setup to take your training to the next level. They both also want access to a wide variety of streaming fitness classes.

After testing both bikes, Adam and Marty found that they shared some important characteristics. They appreciated the ability to adjust the audio settings and how quiet both bikes were while pedaling.

However, at the end of the trial. For Marty, the ability to recreate his outdoor training experience was the main feature that pushed the NordicTrack SS2i to the limit. Fortunately, Adam was most excited about the Peloton Bike + as he is a huge fan of the way the bike can recreate the experience of a group gym. Most importantly, both editors ended up with the bike that best suited them.
