THE LISTENING Center is celebrating its 20th anniversary by working with the West Midlands Ambulance Service to highlight mental health in Redditch workplaces.
The company provides a suite of wellness services to businesses in the Midlands.
As part of its anniversary celebrations, The Listening Center has created a video featuring ambulance staff to show how vital it is to focus on health and wellness at work.
Sharon McCormick, Founder of The Listening Centre, said: “We are a people-centric company and we genuinely care about every individual we support – we want to work with progressive companies that truly value their workforce.”
The Listening Center has counselors in the Midlands, including Redditch.
Sharon added, “When I started the business, my goal was to help people who were having problems at work,” Sharon said.
“We know that the effects of distressed employees in the workplace are very damaging and far-reaching, from low productivity and low morale to illness, absences and high turnover.
“Having served in HM Forces and then Human Resources while undergoing consultancy training, I have gained a broad spectrum of skills and knowledge on how to help organizations and employees prosper. My first client, a district council, has been with me ever since and over the years our reputation has spread to the point where we now work with a wide variety of businesses of various sizes and industries, from a small charity to NHS Trusts.
“It is understandable that people find it difficult to talk about mental health issues, but the impact the pandemic has had is changing the awareness and openness of society to focus on these issues. More people now recognize the value and benefit of exploring issues they may be having with a qualified professional, which is evident in the feedback we receive from employees who access our services.”
