Cancer treatment with microrobots
A team of bioengineers from Munich has created small microrobots which, when placed under a microscope, attach wirelessly to human cells. Professor Berna Ujkale Edelman from the Institute of Microrobotics and Bioengineering and her team are participating in this research. He says his microrobots are round and soft, just like a human cell. These can move, activate cells. These can also be controlled wirelessly. The researchers said that by inserting nano-parts into them, they can generate heat, so that the micro-robots become active.
Can microrobots eliminate cancer?
One of the goals of making microrobots is to use them to prevent cancer. Microrobots can be tasked with attaching to cancer cells. In times to come, there may be more effective laser treatment. With its help, better cancer drugs can be discovered.
