Now she has a new book called Life in the rocks: building a future for coral reefs. We talked to her about efforts to protect reefs and how they, in turn, provide protection from storms but are threatened by climate change. We also discuss a parallel drawing by Berwald about the fate of coral reefs, and her own daughter’s struggle with mental illness, two often unseen battles with uncertain outcomes.
