Medicines that failed the quality test: 53 drugs, including paracetamol, have failed the quality test. These include not only vitamins, sugar and blood pressure medications but also antibiotics. The banned drugs also include clonazepam tablets used for seizures and anxiety, diclofenac, a painkiller, ambroxol used for respiratory diseases, fluconazole for fungal infections and some multivitamin and calcium tablets. These drugs are manufactured in big companies like Hetero Drugs, Alkem Laboratories, Hindustan Antibiotics Limited (HAL), Karnataka Antibiotics and Pharmaceuticals Limited.
