World Anesthesia Day is celebrated every year on October 16 and was established by the World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists (WFSA). In fact, American dentist and physician William Thomas Green Morton demonstrated diethyl ether anesthesia on October 16, 1846. This incident became historic in medical history, which is why this day has since started to be celebrated as World Anesthesia Day.
