World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day was established in 1992 by the World Federation for Mental Health. In some countries around the world, it forms only a part of the larger Mental Illness Awareness Week. The purpose of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health problems, increase education on the subject and try to eliminate the stigma associated with it. It is hoped that this, in turn, will encourage patients to seek help and support.
