According to the report, during the question hour in Parliament, information was sought about cancer cases in the country. In response to this, the Ministry of Health published data for the last three years. It is learned that during the year 2021, 14,26,447 cases of cancer were recorded across the country. At the same time, cancer cases increased by 35,000 in 2022, which took the number of cancer patients to 14,61,427. Apart from this, the number of cancer patients also increased by 35 000 in 2023. If we consider it this way, between 2021 and 2023, the number of cancer patients in the country increased by 70 000.

Citing the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the Health Ministry said the increase in the number of patients is due to many factors such as more testing than before, better testing facilities, new technologies and public awareness.
