Chris Hemsworth is known for showing off his muscular physique in movies like Thor and Extraction, but his ripped abs aren’t his only impressive feature. The native Australian has sold his fitness app to a private company, and let’s just say the payment number has a lot of zeros in it.
Bloomberg has reported that Chris Hemsworth recently sold his Centr app to HighPost Capital, a private equity firm run by Mark Bezos (younger brother of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos) and David Moross. Even including debts, Chris Hemworth’s digital fitness platform had an impressive valuation of more than $200 million.
HighPost also bought the Inspire Fitness brand, which makes gym equipment like free weights, cardio machines, rowing machines and more. David Moross revealed the company’s intention to combine Inspire Fitness with Centr to help users ‘reproduce the gym experience at home’. The app is quite popular in the US and Australia, but further efforts will try to expand its reach. Chris Hemsworth has called his latest business deal a ‘fusion of minds’ and expressed his desire to make fitness disclosure ‘a primary focus’. It remains a shareholder in Centr and has the second largest holding behind HighPost.
Centr already has more than 200,000 subscribers (many of whom united during quarantine), but early estimates predict that those numbers will reach 700,000 or more in just a few years. Given the fact that Chris Hemsworth has over 85 million Instagram followers who frequently check out his new workouts, it’s probably a safe bet.
the Center Created by Chris Hemsworth in 2019, the app was designed to provide a resource for users looking to further their knowledge of health and fitness. The app includes personalized fitness regimens, nutrition guides and meal plans, stress reduction techniques, and access to a global community of like-minded fitness addicts. According to the app’s website, Chris Hemsworth hired a team of health experts from around the world to create a customizable fitness experience. Notable names include his wife Elsa Pataky, who heads up several Centr workouts.
In addition to Centr, Chris Hemsworth often share workouts and fitness tips on their social media profiles. Many of his training videos offer behind-the-scenes looks at his exercise regimens for your moviesespecially for entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that require you to show Thor’s signature six pack. His workouts may not give his fans the ability to lift Mjølnir, but they will help anyone looking to work on their fitness levels and try celebrity-approved meal plans.
