Important Health News: A patient suffering from the disease has got relief from the Delhi High Court. The High Court has allowed the ultrasound machine to be taken to the patient’s home. Hearing a petition, the court said that the purpose of enactment of the PNDT Act (Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act, 1994) is to prevent misuse of ultrasound machines for sex test or fetal examination. But in such a situation when it is necessary to save the life of the patient, then the court can allow it.

Not Violating PNDT Act
Justice Sanjeev Narula said that the PNDT Act is for banning the sex of the child before birth. Whose purpose is to eliminate social evil, but in this case such a situation is not even remotely concerned. Therefore, to save the life of the patient, shifting the ultrasound machine to the patient’s house will not violate the PNDT Act.
