New Delhi: Apollo Hospitals has been associated with microsoft Integrate artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation into healthcare delivery. This collaboration will focus on co-innovation, research and development of advanced healthcare solutions, including work on disease progression, genomics and multimodal models.
Dr. Madhu Sasidhar, Chairman and CEO of Apollo Hospitals, emphasized the transformative potential of the partnership and said it aims to develop intellectual property and expand Apollo’s global remote healthcare platform. The collaboration also includes plans for an AI roadmap to improve patient outcomes and support healthcare professionals, contributing to the “Hospital of the Future” concept.
The partnership identifies four healthcare co-pilots (for physicians, patients, nurses and hospital operations) designed to optimize healthcare processes. The goal is to integrate AI-based tools into hospital operations and create scalable healthcare models for markets beyond India.
The announcement comes in the context of Microsoft’s broader initiatives in India, which include partnerships in key sectors such as healthcare, finance and education. These efforts align with the increasing use of AI in India, which rose from 63 percent adoption in 2023 to 72 percent in 2024, according to an IDC study.
India’s healthcare sector, which is facing challenges such as rising disease burden and need for accessible care, is expected to benefit significantly from AI applications. Apollo Hospitals’ partnership with Microsoft is one of several strategic collaborations aimed at leveraging technology to address systemic challenges in healthcare while fostering innovation.
