Bharti Singh takes pride in being self-possessed like no other. She has had an incredible weight loss journey that helped her manage her medical problems like diabetes and asthma in a much better way.
Every weight loss story is unique. But why do people share their personal journeys, turmoil and triumphs? Because it is identifiable. Any story and every story of vulnerability that is made public can serve as inspiration for anyone. It seems palpable and similarly, Bharti Singh opened up about her journey of incredible transformation. The ‘Queen of Laughter’ lost 15kg in 2021 when she made her first appearance after her transformation.
Making people laugh with her wit, she is always in control of herself and her body, unapologetically fulfilling some important self-esteem goals. Recently, in a podcast with Prajakta Kohli, they talked about their weight loss journeys and how Bharti is now grateful to be able to wear crop tops too. Bharti said, “Main toh bahut khush hoon patli hoke. Kitna maza ata hai jab crop top mil jate hain apne size ke. Mere ko bada maza ata hai, ache ache kapde mil jate hain (I am much happier after losing weight. Now I find crop tops in my size. I really enjoy being able to wear nice clothes).”
Bharti Singh’s Weight Loss Journey
From ’91 to ’76, Singh’s story remains a source of inspiration. He makes us laugh effortlessly and his weight loss story is all about making simple efforts. He also did not opt for a rigorous diet or an intense exercise regimen at the gym.
In one of her interviews, Bharti Singh said, “Even I am surprised that I have lost so much weight, but I am equally happy because I feel healthy and fit. Abhi saans nahi chadhti or halka halka feel hota hai.” Being overweight leads to several health problems and Singh admitted to having his diabetes and asthma under control after losing weight.
So how did the queen of laughter actually do it? Singh says he stuck to one dietary practice and that was intermittent fasting. I used to eat in a certain period i.e. after 12 pm and till 7 pm in the night. Being raw and honest as always, she once spoke about how the innate Punjabi in her did not give up on parathas and makhan (butter). He managed to lose 15 kilos by dedicatedly following intermittent fasting, without giving up his favorite food and without even having an exercise plan drawn up.
Bharti’s diet consisted mainly of controlled portions and home-cooked meals. Not eating post 7 also helped her curb those midnight hunger pangs. “I don’t follow any diet, I just fast for 15-16 hours and I don’t eat anything between 7 pm and 12 pm. My body now does not accept dinner later than 7 pm. But I attack food after 12 midnight. Then I have my usual parathas, eggs, dal-sabzi, everything I have always liked,” he said, speaking to The Indian Express.
