Trial of 3 thousand people
This device was developed by Prof. Jayant Kumar Singh and his team prepared it in 6 years. It is a portable device, which can be kept in a small bag and carried anywhere. Its trial was also conducted on around 3,000 people by setting up camps in many places in Kanpur. Cancer has been detected in young people under the age of 22 using this device. Factory workers and people with private jobs also took part in the tests.
How does the device work?
Pro. Jayant said the size of the device was as big as a toothbrush. It has a high quality camera and LED. It can also be connected to a smartphone, tablet or iPad. After taking the photo inside the mouth, the camera will send a detailed report to the mobile. It continues to store health history for tracking as well as power backup. Its result is 90% accurate and its test does not cause any pain.

Pro. Jayant said the price of this device to detect oral cancer would vary between Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 2 lakh. Many items used have to be imported from abroad, hence its high price. At least 5 lakh people can be tested with a single device. Around 300 people can be tested per day. The arrival of this device on the market can bring a great revolution in the medical sector.
