What will happen if you rub your eyes too much?
1. Damage to the cornea: According to experts, continuous rubbing of the eyes can cause scratches on the cornea, which can also cause serious damage. Serious damage includes scar tissue, permanent vision problems, and blindness.
2. Infection: Rubbing the eyes can also lead to eye infections like conjunctivitis or pink eye. Due to this infection, more itching is felt in the eyes. Doctors say that conjunctivitis is usually caused by bacteria and viruses present on the fingers. This infection spreads on touching the eyes. Due to this the eye swells and becomes red. Sometimes water also starts coming out of the eyes. Conjunctivitis is very contagious. If you meet someone infected with it, then this infection can easily spread in you too.
3. Keratoconus: The problem of keratoconus arises when the cornea of the eye starts to thin. Then the flower also goes in the shape of a cone. It causes blurriness in the eyes and makes them more sensitive to light.
4. Too much histamine: Rubbing the eyes repeatedly increases the histamine response in the body. Histamine is a neurotransmitter that produces a number of different effects, including contraction of muscles and dilation of blood vessels. Histamine also promotes allergy symptoms.
5. Allergies: Excessive rubbing of the eyes can also cause allergies. Due to blepharitis, there is swelling in the eyelids because the oil glands are closed.
6. Dark Circles: Continuous rubbing of the eyes causes the problem of dark circles in those people whose skin color is dark.
7. Red Eyes: Excessive rubbing of the eyes can break the capillaries and cause injury. This can make your eyes red. Not only this, small clots can also be formed.
