In Haryana, patients suffering from stage III and IV cancer will now start receiving a monthly pension of Rs 2,500, authorities said.
It was in May this year that Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, while meeting families of cancer patients, assured them that the state would give them all possible help.

I had informed them that this assistance would be given to those patients whose annual family income is up to Rs 3 lakh.
To ensure that the beneficial owners get the benefit of the plan, the income verification of such patients would be checked against Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP).
Patients will get the benefits until they are alive. Documents verified by the Civil Surgery Office committee will need to be uploaded through Saral Kendra.
