Artificial intelligence in cancer treatment: After the Quad Summit, the heads of state of India, America, Australia and Japan delivered their speeches for the Cancer Moonshot. Prime Minister in this program Narendra Modi Made a big announcement regarding cervical cancer treatment in India. He announced the start of treatment with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) to fight cervical cancer. At the same time, an aid of $7.5 million was proposed to help other countries.
Cancer is the leading cause of premature death worldwide. The American Cancer Society estimates that there will be more than two million new cases and 611,720 deaths from cancer in 2024. Of these, most cases will be from breast, colorectal, lung, and prostate cancer.
Early detection is very important in cancer treatment. Today AI i.e. Artificial Intelligence is being used in cancer treatment. Let us know what is the role of AI in cancer treatment and what are its possibilities in the future (Applications of AI in Cancer Treatment)…

what is cancer
Cancer is a disease in which some cells in the body begin to grow rapidly. It is a genetic disease caused by a mutation in genes. It is difficult to predict how tumors will respond to treatment. Patients with cancer and tumors may have different responses to the same treatment.
Personalized treatment
Cancer treatment requires personalized treatment for each cancer patient. Doctors prepare a treatment plan based on the patient. For this, information about genomic abnormalities, proteins and other substances present in the patient’s body is used.
Does the doctor know what help AI will provide?
According to Dr Amarendra Pathak, Senior Consultant Neurologist and Vice Chairman, Department of Urology, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi, treatment can be better organized with the help of artificial intelligence. He says that if artificial intelligence is used properly, the survival rate of the patient can be further increased. Understand it this way, if there is a tumor in the kidney, then CTMRI information can be fed. Apart from this, the complete data of the patient and his treatment is fed into the artificial intelligence which makes the treatment easier.
According to Dr. Pathak, the help of artificial intelligence helps in evaluating the treatment. In addition, with the help of the chart, it also reminds the patient from time to time when to visit the doctor and when to undergo which tests. Robotic or laparoscopic surgery images can be attached to which intraoperative suggestions can be given through artificial intelligence. Apart from this, by reviewing the survey done after these operations through artificial intelligence, indications are given as to the best treatment that can be done later. According to Dr. Amarendra Pathak, if a patient has undergone stone surgery, artificial intelligence also gives him suggestions on what he should do and what not to do so that it does not happen again.

Role of AI in personalized treatment
AI is proving very useful in accelerating personalized cancer treatment. AI is used in everything from cancer detection and treatment to tumors and their environment, symptoms, drug discovery, and predicting treatment response and outcomes. AI is used in all areas of oncology.
The role of AI in cancer treatment in the future
The use of artificial intelligence is growing rapidly in the field of oncology. However, at present, it is mainly used for cancer diagnosis and screening. Cancer screening is the best preventive measure and AI can play a very important role in this direction. AI helps a lot in improving full body scan medical images and generating reports after analysis.
