What is the difference between HIV and AIDS?

When do HIV-positive people get AIDS?
AIDS is a later stage of HIV. Once a person is infected with HIV, cure is no longer possible, but with the help of medication, it can be prevented from reaching the dangerous stage. If HIV is not treated in time, it reaches the serious stage 3. This then becomes AIDS. Many people are HIV positive but do not have AIDS.

HIV medications are called antiretroviral therapy (ART). To avoid HIV, one must be careful during physical intercourse. Only a clean and new syringe should be used. If symptoms of the disease appear, one should consult a doctor and, if necessary, take antiretroviral treatment.
