Cholesterol is stored in the body as fat. It is made from liver. The more oil, junk food and bad food you eat, the more fat is stored in the body. Due to which heart attack, stroke and many heart diseases can arise.

Cholesterol is a type of fat. This is called lipoprotein. There are two types of lipoproteins. 1. Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL), 2. High Density Lipoprotein (HDL). An increase in HDL is considered good and an increase in LDL is considered dangerous. When LDL becomes more in the body, then it starts accumulating in the arteries of the blood and the risk of heart diseases increases.

What should be the normal cholesterol in the body

LDL cholesterol

According to health experts, it is better to have LDL ie bad cholesterol level less than 100 mg/dL in a normal person. Levels higher than this can be alarm bells. Cholesterol level of 130 mg/dL or more in the body is considered as a border. On the other hand, if this level is 160 mg/dL or more, then it can be dangerous. In such a situation, a doctor should be contacted.

HDL cholesterol

The reduction of good cholesterol i.e. HDL is not good for the body. HDL should be 60 mg/dL or more in a healthy person. If the level of good cholesterol is less than 40 mg/dL then it can be dangerous. Now if we talk about total cholesterol, then it is better for us to have the level of both cholesterol in the body at 200 mg/dL or less.
