The platform “would have a transformative impact not only on the storage of each person’s health records, child but also in the digitalization of these records as well as in the monitoring, identification and rectification of any challenges that arise,” he added.
The report highlights significant improvements in adolescent well-being in India over the past few decades, showcasing the government’s extensive policies and programs aimed at promoting adolescent health and well-being.
The Health Secretary noted that “India has remained and will remain steadfast in its commitment to nurturing adolescent talents.”
“India has the largest adolescent population in the world, at 253 million people, and the number continues to grow. Our adolescents are the backbone of our future and embody the promise of a vibrant and progressive nation,” Chandra said, noting that the country is “the first to launch the Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK).”
RKSK is a program dedicated to “reaching the 253 million adolescents, male and female, rural and urban, married and unmarried, in school and out of school, with special attention to marginalized and underserved groups.”

In addition, the Secretary of Health noted various programs for the well-being of adolescents, such as the School Health and Wellness Program under Ayushman Bharat and Menstrual Hygiene Promotion Scheme.
