Joining me live at the London Real studio today is a man who has pushed his body to the absolute limits and has been recognized around the world as someone without equal. Yes, Mat Fraser, the five-time champion of the CrossFit Games is making his long-awaited appearance on the show, to explain exactly how he became the fittest man on the planetand the processes and mindset it took to achieve such a lofty status.
the cross fit games is a tournament that tests every conceivable aspect of fitness, from endurance and speed to strength and agility in a variety of challenging and ever-evolving disciplines, it truly is the ultimate test of one’s physique and leaves little to the imagination in selecting the best overall athlete. in the planet.
Mat’s first appearance at the Games came in 2014, when he took the title of Rookie of the Year. As a newcomer to the sport, Mat drew on his experience as a National Junior Weightlifting Champion and former resident athlete in the Olympic Training Center in colorado He was strong and powerful, but he lacked the cardiovascular fitness and variety of skills needed to compete for the top honor.
Mat returned a year later, in 2015, but once again fell short and finished second. It was a wake-up call and a defining moment in Mat’s life. Should he continue to push his body to the limit, giving up social life and maintaining his strict lifestyle or resorting to his academic achievements and seeking a more ordinary life for him?
Mat chose the path that very few men and women take. He got to his knees and pushed himself harder than he thought possible. No stone was left unturned and every conceivable sacrifice was made. Mat returned in 2016 and won the tournament by a record margin of victory. He then went on to win again in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.. Became the most successful athlete in the history of the CrossFit Games and the unequivocal the fittest man on the planet.
His achievements are even more remarkable when you consider that Mat broke his back in two places during a junior weightlifting tournament many years ago. The doctor told him at the time that he would never exercise again, that his dreams of becoming an Olympian were in tatters and that he had a long road to recovery ahead of him.
Today Mat is spreading the word or at least his mantra: that ‘Hard work pays off’. This message has been the cornerstone of his philosophy and approach to everything he does in life. And by reminding himself of those four words on a daily basis, he was able to become the best, not once, but five times.
“I am going to do today what other people are not willing to do. So I can do tomorrow, what other people can’t.”
Not surprisingly, Mat’s book echoes that same sentiment and is simply titled, ‘Hard work pays off’ it is essentially a training manual. One that looks at how you, no matter your fitness level, or whether you’ve ever tried CrossFit before, will be able to transform your body and mind by following the detailed guidelines they promise maximum strength, endurance, speed and a champion mentality.
Mat’s dogged determination to be the best, his hunger, desire and unwavering commitment is a lesson for us all.. Consistency is something I always preach to my students. Show up every day and have a plan that you persistently follow with passion. Mat did exactly that and achieved superhero status.
Mat’s consistency coupled with a relentless attitude helped him achieve his goals. If you want to do the same, then you might be the ideal candidate to join me. Life Accelerator Program.
