“I felt terrible all the time and there was really nothing I could do to not feel that way. I tried everything, and eventually I had to realize that if I wanted to live my life aligned with my priorities, which was to be the best father and husband I could be, my dream had to change.”

“It took me a long time to accept that, even to myself, and certainly then open up to other people and tell my wife that I was going through that struggle. I kept it a secret from her for years that she was in a really dark place, suffering from depression and obsessive compulsive disorder.”
Martin posted for the first time why he stepped away from TV news in an essay in Boston magazine.
