‘My dream had to change’: Former WBZ-TV anchor Liam Martin talks men’s mental health – The Boston Globe

The former WBZ-TV anchor was living his dream job, but suffering in silence.

“I felt terrible all the time and there was really nothing I could do to not feel that way. I tried everything, and eventually I had to realize that if I wanted to live my life aligned with my priorities, which was to be the best father and husband I could be, my dream had to change.”

In a sincere conversation with the host. According to Oduolowu on men’s mental health Boston Globe today, Martin explains how he knew it was time to leave and find a new dream. He also delves into how the struggle manifested itself and how he got help. Watch the interview at the beginning of this story.

“It took me a long time to accept that, even to myself, and certainly then open up to other people and tell my wife that I was going through that struggle. I kept it a secret from her for years that she was in a really dark place, suffering from depression and obsessive compulsive disorder.”

Martin posted for the first time why he stepped away from TV news in an essay in Boston magazine. He joined former NBCUniversal news anchor Jackie Bruno as her partner in her communications and public relations business, Newsmaker Marketing, along with third partner Rachel Robbins, formerly at Greenough Communications.
