3. Apply the BP reading cuff on the skin, applying it on the cloth will not give the correct reading.

4. Whenever you check BP, try to keep your arm at the level of the heart. You can rest your arms on the handle of the chair or on the table.

5. Do not measure BP more than once in one hand before five minutes. Take blood pressure readings in both hands. The hand whose reading is more, consider it as the correct reading. BP readings can vary at different times of the day. So try to measure BP at the same time.

6. According to a research, blood pressure should be measured 3 times in a gap of 3 minutes. By doing this, the reading of BP comes correct. That’s why it should not be considered correct by taking the reading of blood pressure only once.
