World Heart Day is celebrated every year on September 29. On this special occasion, today we are going to introduce you to a hospital where thousands and thousands of patients received a new life. We are talking about UN Mehta Hospital in Gujarat. Many achievements have been recorded in this hospital, ranging from giving new life to a 4-month-old child to successfully performing a heart transplant on a 16-year-old child. In fact, Ahmedabad-based United Nations Mehta Cardiology and Research Center has become a beacon of hope for people suffering from serious heart diseases.

A 6-month-old baby finds a new life
Four-month-old baby Ghanshyam was given a new lease of life at UN Mehta Hospital in Gujarat. In fact, this child suffered from serious heart disease. However, the financial condition of the child’s parents, Hina Ben and her husband Suresh Bhai, living in Keshod in Junagadh district, was not so good that they could get full treatment for their children. In such a situation, the child got a new life thanks to the Gujarat government’s school health program and free treatment at the hospital and today he is leading a healthy life.
Heart transplant gave new life
Pranay Singh Vaghela, 16, from Gandhinagar, underwent a heart transplant in this hospital, after which he has a new life today. Pranay’s heart transplant took place on September 27, 2022. Today, two full years have passed and Pranay is living a healthy life. According to Pranay, he was very scared before the operation, but the doctors performed the transplant very well and today he is leading a healthy life after overcoming his heart disease.

Hospital achievements
Let us tell you that over the past 5 years, continuous achievements have been recorded at Mehta Institute of Cardiology and UNO Research Center. Here, the number of cardiac procedures was 13,615 in 2020, which increased to 29,510 in 2023, while in August 2024, 19,560 procedures were carried out in the state. These numbers alone are enough to show how this risky heart surgery is successfully performed in the hospital.
The hospital is also at the top when it comes to post-operative care. Outpatient visits at this institution increased from 15,747 in 2020 to 3,35,124 in 2023, while 2,41,023 patients were treated at August Hospital. These patients are regularly monitored and receive comprehensive care after cardiac surgery.
The most important thing is that Sach Hospital has become famous not only nationally but also internationally. The number of international patients arriving here was 21 in 2020, and increased to 195 in 2023. As of August 2024, 134 international cardiac patients have been treated here.
