Red Wings promoting mental health awareness through extended event

ROCHESTER, NY — This week, the Rochester Red Wings promote mental health awareness during an extended event at Frontier Field.

Wings staff kicked off The Intentional Walk campaign on Tuesday. During the entire six-game series against Worcester, they will walk or run on a treadmill set up on the field, 24 hours a day.

Their goal is to walk more than 500 miles to raise money and awareness for local mental health services.

“We really hope to see a lot of fans here over the next six nights and games to walk with us and do their part to help us in this endeavor to raise money and awareness for mental health,” the Red Wings general said. Manager Dan Mason.

In addition to The Intentional Walk, the Red Wings will host health exercises this week to encourage mental and physical wellness. They will be on the treadmill until the last out of Sunday night’s game. That’s over 130 hours.

All money raised will benefit NAMI Rochester and the Rochester Mental Health Association.
