Sitaram Yechury, a prominent leader of Indian politics and the Communist Party of Marxism, passed away on 12 September 2024 at 3:05 pm. He was 72 years old. He was admitted to AIIMS on 19 August 2024 due to pneumonia. Yechury had been ill for a long time. His family donated his body to AIIMS, New Delhi for education and research purposes. Due to which his legacy will go beyond his political contribution.

Yechury had spoken openly about his health issues during his life, during which he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. Despite these challenges, he remained committed to his work and remained an influential figure in Indian politics.
Sitaram Yechury’s Childhood
Sitaram Yechury was born in 1952 and started his political career in the 1970s. He held various positions in the Marxist Communist Party and became the party’s general secretary in 2015. He held various important positions in Parliament, including that of a member of the Rajya Sabha. He actively worked on various social and economic issues and was known as an influential leader.
