The skin on the fingers and toes may be thick or waxy. This risk is higher in people whose blood sugar levels are not controlled.
Necrobiosis, the death of cells, can also be a sign of diabetes. Small raised red spots appear on the skin, which gradually begin to grow and become shiny. In this case, the skin can become thin and even tear.
