Oil For Heart: Oil is very dangerous for the heart. Eating too much oil increases cholesterol in the body. This is the reason why doctors nowadays recommend eating low-fat food. Refined carbohydrates included in the food are dangerous for the heart, whereas the cholesterol from the food i.e. dietary cholesterol is not that harmful for the heart. Earlier it was said that a person should not consume food containing more than 300 mg of cholesterol daily in the diet. This increases the risk of heart diseases, but now new research has revealed that dietary cholesterol is not that dangerous.
How does cholesterol increase?
1- Cholesterol is a major cause of heart diseases, but the cholesterol you are taking from the diet is not as dangerous as oil is dangerous.
2- Trans fats are the most harmful to health. Trans fats are formed when you heat oil repeatedly or heat it rapidly. This increases cholesterol.
3- There is no direct connection of heart disease with the cholesterol obtained from saturated fats like ghee, butter, cheese, red meat etc.
4- Refined carbohydrates like white sugar, white rice and flour also cause more harm than fat for the heart.
What is cholesterol and what are its disadvantages?
Cholesterol is a wax-like substance that is found in the cells present inside the body. This lubricant helps in digestion from the nervous system, but if this lubricant increases in the arteries and starts accumulating then it proves fatal for the heart.
The accumulated cholesterol blocks the arteries, which increases the risk of heart attack or stroke. If there is swelling in the arteries or there is some other reason then they start getting blocked.
Is Food Cholesterol Dangerous?
Food items do not have much effect on blood cholesterol. The liver makes 85 to 88 percent of the blood cholesterol in the body and only 12 to 15 percent of the cholesterol is found by eating. If your cholesterol has increased, then it is important to control the amount of cholesterol in your food as well. To control cholesterol, eat less trans fat and refined carbohydrates.
