While you sleep, your body is also in charge of producing leptin and ghrelin, which control appetite. Leptin controls appetite while ghrelin makes you want to eat. Lack of sleep may be one of the reasons why many people feel like eating at midnight. Sleep deprivation stimulates ghrelin, which can further lead to weight gain and obesity.
Thinking and concentration problems
Sleep is important for the functioning of the central nervous system. Sleep deprivation can exhaust the brain and lead to dull functioning. One may have difficulty concentrating. The signal sent to the brain and body can be delayed and cause sluggishness.

While you sleep, your body produces antibodies, a substance to fight off foreign invaders like bacteria and viruses. But if you don’t get enough sleep for a long time, it can weaken your immune system and put you at risk for heart disease or diabetes.

Many things happen inside the body when one is asleep. Our body needs that time to rest. Therefore, it is better to boost a good sleep in priority sleep and reduce any risk to our overall health.
