We all face mental health problems in one way or another. A common thing we talk about almost daily in the midst of this hustle culture is “anxiety.” I feel “anxious.” A common phrase we all use. Vicky Kaushal on dealing with anxiety
Mental health requires a more honest conversation about it so that people feel like it’s okay to be that way and feel more open and comfortable about it. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar India, ‘Bad Newz’ shared his approach on the matter. He said: “The best thing to do with anxiety is to recognize it. The enemy is giving in to it. A veteran actor once told me to make anxiety your friend. It will always be there; you just need to master it. Recognizing it is a great first step.”
Kaushal further explained how he tries to stay creatively challenged to manage mental fatigue. In the same stream, he spoke about his intrigue with cinema. “It’s fascinating to see different approaches to filmmaking. “I’m not sure if I would take that step myself yet, but I’m definitely intrigued.” The Indian film industry has evolved and flourished, he agrees. “We are in an exciting phase. New voices are gaining power and authenticity is resonating with audiences. “People are becoming more open to diverse narratives, which is exciting to witness.”
On the work front, Vicky was last seen in Anand Tiwari’s ‘Bad Newz’. The romantic comedy also featured Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk, Neha Dhupia, among others. He will soon be seen in ‘Chhava’, which will chronicle the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj alongside Rashmika Mandanna.
