Why do women need more sleep?
- You must have read or heard about the need for sleep on the basis of age. For example, children between the ages of 0 and 5 need 10 to 12 hours of sleep. At the age of 18 to 64, 7 to 9 hours of sleep is required and then at the age of 65 to 90, the need for sleep increases. Similarly, the need for sleep differs on the basis of gender.
- Everyone knows and accepts that women are multitaskers. They can do many things at the same time with full efficiency. For this reason, they use more mental energy than men. Therefore, they need more amount of mental energy, which is obtained only after getting enough sleep.
- Experts from the National Sleep Foundation say that women need more sleep than men because they use more mental energy and do multiple tasks at the same time. But the quality of sleep of women is naturally less than that of men. Because of this, they need more hours of sleep than men.
- The reasons for women’s sleep quality being lower than men’s are natural. For example, hormonal changes, changes in the body during periods, emotional needs, menopause, etc. Therefore, to stay healthy, women should try to fulfill their body’s need of sleep every day and take at least 8 to 9 hours of sleep. By doing this you can avoid many health and fitness related problems.
