Diseases caused by pigeons : Do you know that pigeons, a symbol of peace and simplicity, are dangerous for human health. As a result, many diseases can spread. Otherwise, be careful. In fact, this beautiful bird can seriously harm health.
It is with this in mind that a few months ago, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) was considering banning the feeding of pigeons. The reason would be the constant increase in the number of pigeons and diseases. This is already banned in some areas of Mumbai. In such a situation, let us know what diseases can be caused by pigeons.
1. May damage the lungs
According to health experts, pigeon droppings can not only pollute roofs and balconies, but also damage lungs. As a result, there is a risk of hypersensitivity pneumonitis. Indeed, avian antigens are present in pigeon droppings, which are dangerous. These reach the nose through the air and reach the lungs through breathing and begin to damage the lung tissue. This is why the lungs of those who feed the pigeons can be quickly damaged. Their ability to breathe decreases and there is a lack of oxygen in the body.
2. Danger for asthma patients
People with asthma are advised to stay away from pigeons. According to health experts, pigeons can also cause asthma. In such a situation, people whose lungs are already weak may become more vulnerable to the infections they cause. People with weak immune systems should also be careful. Children and the elderly should be kept away from pigeons.
3. A fungal infection may occur
There is also a risk of fungal infection (candidiasis) from pigeon droppings or feathers. This may be due to the growth of Candida yeast. As a result, swelling of the mouth, white spots, loss of taste of food and redness begin to appear on both corners of the mouth. Because of this, the skin color may fade or begin to redden, and skin pain may also occur. Due to this disease, problems may also occur in the private parts such as itching, burning sensation and excessive discharge in women. Nails can also be damaged due to Candida yeast.
4. Headache and fever
Health experts say that E. coli can reach our body through pigeons. If pigeon droppings fall into water, vegetables, fruits or fields and somehow get inside the body without being cleaned, E-coli bacteria enters the body, causing problems such as loss of consciousness, nausea, headache or fever.
Pigeon droppings can harm the nervous system. There is also a risk of psittacosis from pigeon droppings, also known as parrot fever, which is spread by a bacteria called Chlamydia psittaci. Flu-like symptoms are observed there. Fever, fatigue and muscle pain may occur.
