Do you also use mouthwash frequently, so be careful!

Risk of oral cancer from mouthwashes: Cancer is a deadly disease that can develop due to the growth of cancer cells in the body and some factors can activate cancer cells. One of them is mouthwash.

According to a new Belgian research recently published in the Journal of Medical Microbiology, two bacteria Fusobacterium nucleate and Streptococcus anginosus multiply in the body of a person who uses mouthwash daily for 3 months and these two bacteria are linked to cancer. Let us tell you about this study and how mouthwash can be harmful to you.

Amount of alcohol found in mouthwash
According to research, some mouthwashes contain alcohol, which destroys the thin layer of the mouth and gives rise to harmful bacteria in the mouth. In fact, in the case of mouthwashes, the body breaks down alcohol or ethanol and turns it into a compound called acetaldehyde, which is a cancer-causing substance that damages DNA and can even damage cells.

Mouthwash can dry out your mouth
Experts believe that people who use too much mouthwash have a dry mood and saliva production also decreases, leading to the death of harmful bacteria. Additionally, this mouthwash can also trigger inflammation in the mouth. Australian research conducted in 2009 also found that the alcohol content of mouthwashes may increase the risk of carcinogenic cancer.

Other oral cancer risks
Regarding things we should avoid more than mouthwashes, experts say that chewing tobacco, eating betel leaves, drinking alcohol, all these can increase the risk of cancer and make the situation worse by further triggering the oral cancer.
