How chickpeas help in weight loss
Due to the high amount of fiber and protein, chickpeas are considered excellent for weight loss. It is said to slow down digestion and keep away useless calories. All these factors help in losing weight and maintaining a healthy weight. For those of you who are trying to lose weight, here are some recipes of gram.
Instant Pot Chana Masala
Ingredients: 1 cup chickpeas (white) 2 tbsp oil 2 cloves 2 cardamom 1 medium finely chopped onion 2 tsp ginger paste 2 tsp garlic paste 1 green chili 2 medium grated tomatoes ½ tsp turmeric powder 1 ½ small 1 tsp red chili powder 1 tsp coriander powder 2 tsp chana masala powder 1 ½ tsp pomegranate seeds powder 1 ½ cup water ½ tsp dried mango powder Chopped green coriander Salt as per taste Wash the chickpeas and soak them in water overnight. Strain the water. Add oil, black cardamom and cloves. Fry for some time and add chopped onions and let it cook till it turns golden brown. Add ginger paste, garlic paste and chopped green chillies. Add tomato puree and mix again. After this, add salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder and pomegranate powder as per taste. Add soaked gram and water and mix. Cover the lid of the Instant Pot. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
gram paratha
Ingredients: 2 cups wheat flour 1 cup raw chickpeas (chickpeas) 1 medium chopped onion 1 green coriander 1 green chili 1 tsp grated ginger 1 tsp red chili powder 1/2 tsp garam masala 1/2 tsp amchur ( Amchur) 1/4 tsp asafoetida 1/3 tsp carom seeds, 3 tsp oil, salt as per taste, water as required Knead the dough. Add water as required. Make sure you prepare the dough 15-20 minutes before cooking. Wash the chickpeas and soak them in lukewarm water for 3-4 hours. Cook the chickpeas in the pressure cooker till 8-9 whistles. Mash the chickpeas, add onion, coriander leaves, green chilies, ginger, red chili powder, garam masala, dried mango powder, asafoetida, salt as per taste and mix well. Take a ball of dough, put stuffing in it and roll it round. Heat a pan and add some oil or ghee to it. Transfer the paratha to the pan and cook it from both the sides. Serve hot with curd or chutney.
Quinoa Chickpea Salad
Ingredients: 1 cup raw quinoa 1 cup chickpeas 1 cup tomatoes 1 cup grated cucumber ½ cup grated carrot 1 bell pepper ½ onion 1 bunch coriander leaves ½ cup olive oil juice of 1 lemon 3 cloves garlic salt and pepper ½ 1 tsp dry carom seeds First of all cook the quinoa. After this wash the chickpeas and keep them aside. Cut all the vegetables into small pieces. Mix lemon juice, oil, garlic, salt, black pepper and carom seeds in a mixing bowl. Add cooked quinoa, chickpeas, vegetables and mix together. Sprinkle some cheese on top and serve.
Black Gram Chaat
Ingredients: 1 cup dried black gram 1 finely chopped medium onion 1 finely chopped big tomato 2 finely chopped green chilies 1 tsp red chili powder 1 tsp chaat masala 1 tsp roasted cumin powder 1 tsp dry mango powder 2 – 3 small Spoon lemon juice ½ tsp black salt or regular 2 – 3 tbsp chopped coriander Wash and wash black gram. Soak in water overnight. Next morning drain the water. Cook soaked chickpeas in a pressure cooker for 6-7 minutes. Let the pressure release on its own. Once soft, keep aside. In a large bowl, add chopped onions, tomatoes, green chillies, coriander leaves and cooked chickpeas. Mix well. Add spices, lemon juice and salt and serve cold.
