Lately, Saheefa appeared on Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast where she opened up about her depression. Talking about her depression, Saheefa said, “I have been going through depression since 2013, however, I was not aware that it was depression, I just thought that I react to situations that are not in my favor. After a while, I realized that my panic attacks are permanent, despite having a perfect life, loving parents, money and a kind husband, my panic attacks keep coming back. It was the moment I realized I had been suffering from severe depression and anxiety.
He further said that he did not have much exposure or knowledge about depression because he belongs to a middle-class family where most people had a normal graduation average and were not aware of things like mental health.” While sharing her story of depression, Saheefa Jabbar Khattak also criticized her therapist, who was being rude to her and was only concerned about her other appointments, her time and her money. He said that a therapist should care about the health of her patients.
He also said there were times when he suffered severe panic attacks and had suicidal thoughts. Saheefa Jabbar Khattak added: “My long-distance relationship made me realize that I suffer from chronic depression; Previously, the understanding of my depression was blurred in my mind. Saheefa Jabbar Khattak also shared that despite having an amazing support system from her husband and brother who take care of her, her anxiety and depression are still uncontrollable and healing is difficult to achieve. Recalling her difficult time with depression during her flight to Canada, Ella Saheefa said, “I told my situation to the crew on the flight because I had already taken thirty pills and knew I would have severe panic attacks. I was taking antidepressants every few hours, I don’t even remember my meeting with my husband. I remember that I was not stable for several days, and there was a moment when I didn’t want anyone to talk to me and my husband took care of me. I am alive thanks to my husband. He has been extremely kind in this situation; Otherwise, he would have died a long time ago.
