What is the Anti-inflammatory Diet?
Inflammation is basically the body’s natural response to fight infections, diseases, etc. However, experiencing chronic inflammation can lead to several health problems, such as heart problems, cancer, diabetes, and also weight gain. Switching to certain dietary tips and changes can help reduce inflammation and also help you lose weight.
Anti-inflammatory diet can consist of nutrient-rich foods rich in antioxidants as they help free radicals reduce oxidative stress in the body. There is no single diet to follow. There are certain rules to help with your weight loss routine.
Stay away from ultra-processed foods high in carbohydrates. Avoid consuming sugary foods, baked goods, processed meats, sauces, etc.
So what should you eat? To combat inflammation, consider opting for sugar-free foods, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, low-fat dairy, olive oil, unprocessed foods, etc. Spices such as cinnamon, ginger and turmeric also have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects that could help improve health.
This is general information about the anti-inflammatory diet, but what may work for one may not work for another. Therefore, it is better to consult a professional and draw up an eating plan that suits the needs of each person.
