Every year on the 7th of June the world celebrates World Food Security Day. The goal of the day is to raise awareness and encourage people to take the necessary precautions to avoid, detect and manage foodborne illnesses. The day was designated by the United Nations in 2018 to raise awareness about food security. Each year, the organization comes up with a topic that focuses on current and future food security concerns. This year’s theme for World Food Security Day is “Safe Food, Better Health”.
