Wouldn’t it be great if you didn’t have to starve yourself or limit yourself to only a few select foods in order to lose weight? That would certainly sound great, but the reality is that most diet plans still use flawed methodology. But if you can stick with such demanding diet programs, you have to wonder what the quality of life will cost. Humans get a lot of pleasure from eating and we get special pleasure from eating our favorite foods. You take that away and you are taking away a huge chunk of happiness from day to day.
Traditional diet plans have always been about restricting calories and that means you either consume fewer or you restrict certain nutrients from your diet. It’s a terrible idea that you just can’t maintain it and thus losing weight becomes a nightmare over and over again. It is like asking a person to sleep only for 4 hours instead of 8 hours because you can get more done that way. You can do this for a while, but eventually your body and mind succumb and you will only be hurting yourself. Traditional diets just don’t work.
However, let’s make one thing clear that if you are into eating whatever you want and become a couch potato, don’t expect to lose weight. Such miracles do not happen. What we’re talking about here is knowing what to eat, when to eat, and how to eat so that we don’t skip meals, we don’t restrict ourselves from certain nutrients, and we get enough in a day. Consume in moderation- -depending on the day we stay fit and satisfied. The key is to adopt a diet plan that is sensible and that allows us to enjoy the food we eat.
