How many commercials have you seen promising 6 pack abs from the latest ab workout? does it ever work? never! Here’s a better way to get abs.
In my opinion all you need to do to get six pack abs is…
Lose belly fat with nutrition, interval and resistance training.
More specifically…
First, start by improving the quality of the food you eat. No more processed carbohydrates, no more sugar, no more fried foods, no more fast food, and no more soda or juice. Just making these changes will help you lose belly fat fast, and you will lower your body fat percentage in a matter of days.
Stop doing crunches. Instead spend that time on intervals. Doing hundreds of crunches will not give you results. And doing long, slow, boring cardio is also an inefficient way to burn belly fat and see your 6-pack abs.
According to researchers from Australia, including Professor Steve Boucher, the only way to lose belly fat is to use interval training. Body fat is destroyed by interval.
Once you’ve taken care of your nutrition, resistance training and interval training, you can start with basic abdominal exercises. Here’s what you need to know, and it might surprise you!
1) Beginners should stay away from situps and crunch-type movements until they have mastered the plank, side plank, and bird dog.
Don’t do situps.
2) Here are some of my favorite no-crunch ab movements for intermediate exercisers…
a) Stability Ball Rollout (can also be done with an ab wheel or as a barbell rollout)
b) Stability Ball Jackknife
c) Plank with your arms on the ball (which, according to research cited in Men’s Health, makes your abs work 30% harder than a regular plank—all without sabotaging your lower back).
OK, so I’ve dished out my controversial advice on what beginner and intermediate fitness levels should do for abs… ready to spill the beans on Men’s Health expert Craig Ballantyne’s belly fat loss strategies Stay
But first, I want to mention some “unknown” ab builders…
a) Elevated Pushup
b) Straight arm cable pullover
c) Front Squat
d) db pullover with added stretch and even db triceps extension
Your program has all the great body moves to burn calories and build abs at the same time.
3) What exactly do you need to do to bring out your abs once your body fat is down?
My favorite advanced ab exercise is cable crunches, which are undoubtedly the best resistance exercise for building abs. There are several ways to do them, including one version that is safer but just as effective as all the other versions.
The big message I want to convey to clients is that they can build 6-pack abs while lying on their back without doing a single crunch.
This thing surprises people, but it is true. If you want to lose belly fat fast and see your six pack abs, then before you consider adding more reps to your current ab workout, focus on your nutrition, total body strength training and interval training .
