Which foods help in losing weight is a commonly asked question. Obviously, healthy food products help in reducing weight while low nutritional items lead to excess weight. But, sometimes healthy items can lead to excess weight because of the ingredients placed on top of the products and the way those products are made. An effective natural weight loss diet involves eating healthy and not consuming low-nutrient foods.
A classic example is potatoes. These vegetables contain complex carbohydrates instead of monosaccharides or simple carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are the human body’s number one source of energy. Research studies have found that complex carbs help in reducing excessive body weight because these carbohydrates take longer time for the human body to absorb so that more food products are not consumed. As a result, unwanted pounds are lost by consuming foods that contain complex or polysaccharide carbohydrates. Studies have shown that simple or monosaccharide carbohydrates cause extra pounds because the body breaks down these carbohydrates faster resulting in craving for more food products. Therefore, eating foods that contain simple or monosaccharide carbs puts on pounds. Therefore, eating potatoes that provide complex or polysaccharide carbohydrates helps in reducing excess body weight.
However, these foods can at times lead to excessive weight gain because of how these foods are made as well as what is added to them. These vegetables, loaded with margarine, bacon bits and sour cream, do not help to lose excess weight. Bacon bits, sour cream and margarine are made from hydrogenated oils and salt. Both these things cause excess fat. Excellent toppings that help reduce excess body fat include plain yogurt, broccoli and homemade salsa.
Potatoes are sometimes included in cheesy and creamy soups. Making these potato soups would typically involve adding heavy cream, cheese, and milk. Heavy cream, cheese and milk are packed with calories and unhealthy fats. Both of these things contribute to extra pounds. In better soup pots, people can eat a large amount of vegetables, spices and herbs, along with low-sodium broth, tomato juice and water.
In addition, potatoes fried using partially hydrogenated oil or hydrogenated oil will never help you eliminate extra pounds. Partially hydrogenated oils cause excess fat. Healthy options would be to boil, bake or grill these vegetables. By using these techniques, there will never be a need for fattening products. Therefore, eating vegetables prepared in these ways leads to loss of excess weight. As a result, an effective natural weight loss diet Consuming grilled, baked or boiled potatoes without adding fattening ingredients.
