How to reduce body fat and get rid of diet alone?

So here’s how to reduce body fat without stepping into a gym. The mainstream media would like people to believe that they should exercise to lose body fat, but this is not the case. I guess this is a good way to sell gym memberships, but let me tell you the truth.

What a Back Injury Taught Me in 2003

I injured my back in 2003, leave alone walking. This was the first time in 15 years that I haven’t been able to work out. It was also a really bad time. I had just bought tickets for a trip to Mexico with 4 other friends and we rented a beach villa in a prime location on the Gulf of Mexico. I had 5 months to travel and was injured so badly it pained me to stand.

I went on a strict diet since I couldn’t exercise

I had about 10 pounds of fat to lose, but could not reduce this much body fat through any exercise. I had to make up 100% of my calorie deficit through diet alone. To be honest, I was skeptical that this would work. In the past I stayed on the treadmill for the holidays or the summer. I’m very good at getting lean through cardio and I’ve never done it with diet alone.

I lost 8% body fat in 3 months

Losing body fat is one thing, but it’s difficult to lose body fat when you’re already pretty lean. Doing this with diet alone gets even trickier. So how did I accomplish this? I drank a protein shake for breakfast, one for lunch, and then a salad with chicken and rice vinegar for dinner. It was a bland way of eating, but it worked well. If I was still hungry, I allowed myself a Fuji apple for desert, but not every night.

Basal Metabolic Rate: The Starting Point for a Weight Loss Plan

You can create a greater calorie deficit through diet than through exercise.

The biggest thing I learned from this experience is that you can create a really big calorie deficit through diet alone. If my daily maintenance calorie level is 2,000, I can only eat 1,200 and create a massive 800-calorie deficit. It takes a lot of exercise to burn 800 calories a day! I’m just using this figure as an example, you don’t need to expose yourself to such huge losses.

Obviously exercise will help maintain muscle

The only downside to using diet alone to lose body fat is that you won’t maintain all of your muscle mass. To be honest, you won’t bulk up, but you will lose some muscle mass if you don’t do at least a little training while following a strict diet. So the above is an extreme example of how to lose body fat without exercise.
