Carb Cycling – Hollywood’s Best Secret Diet?

What is the best low carb diet plan? Of all the diets out there (Atkins, South Beach, etc.), which one might be the most effective? After spending a lot of time learning about nutrition and fitness, I’ve come across a diet that people in my gym swear by when asked about it. And according to my fitness instructor, Hollywood swears by it too. It’s a new twist to the old low-carbohydrate-high-protein diet and an advanced fat loss technique called ‘carbohydrate cycling’. It is also called ‘carb cycling’, ‘zig, zag diet’ and ‘hi-low’ dieting.

how it works

Our body is conditioned to respond to starvation. This means that when we eat less our body thinks it will have less to burn in the future so it goes into starvation mode. In a state of starvation, our body will burn less and less because it thinks there is nothing more to burn. This is why traditional low carbohydrate dieters reach a plateau when they have been on a low carbohydrate diet for some time.

Carbohydrate cycling (I like to call it CC) is one of the most effective ways to trick our bodies into not going into starvation mode. In the CC diet, you drop your carbohydrates for a few days and increase it again before your body even knows what’s happening! CC is based on the concept of alternating low carbohydrate days with high carbohydrate days rather than keeping carbohydrates low all the time. The beauty of this diet is that it takes advantage of the fat loss benefits of a low carbohydrate diet but eliminates all the low carbohydrate side effects! This keeps the metabolism at a high rate and prevents your body from going into starvation mode.

game plan

Low carbohydrate should be a maximum of three days straight and then you fill up on the fourth day. By carbohydrate loading on the fourth day, your energy is sustained and your metabolism is boosted to burn fat faster. On my low days, I eat carbohydrates at my first two or three meals (snacks included) and the carbohydrates I eat are very minimal. (Half a cup of brown rice) After 4 p.m. I eat a high protein meal with only fibrous carbohydrates (salads, greens, etc.).

On my high day, I just eat whatever I want (no sweets and sodas, though). This is where I eat a lot of starchy carbohydrates like french fries, Chinese fried rice, mashed potatoes with gravy, etc. Not only does it fill me up with the carbohydrates I need, but it also gives me a sense of reward after three days of low carbohydrates. After losing 20 pounds and dropping 11 points on my body fat percentage, I’m truly convinced that this really is the fastest way to lose weight and also the easiest it seems. ,
