There are a lot of negative health benefits of high sodium. Too often someone will think they are choosing a healthy food to eat without realizing the sodium content is actually through the roof. An example of this could be bread. Many breads in the market that are being promoted as a healthy food to eat actually contain high sodium levels. There is a brand called Ezekial that is one of the lowest sodium breads available. Canned fruits and vegetables that you might consider a healthy food to eat are often loaded with sodium from the solution needed to preserve the product. Fresh fruits and vegetables are always best.

An additional note that any normal sauce you put on your food will add a huge amount of sodium to your food, making it not a healthy food to eat.
