Junk food and increased inactivity have led to obesity for millions of adults and children. Junk food has become a way of life for some people, they are addicted to it and for example everyone in your family eats junk food then it is very difficult to eat healthy. But it is not impossible at all.
A lot is said about junk food. People know that it is unhealthy and makes people fat but what is the true definition of junk food. well junk food is an informal term applied to certain foods that have little or no nutritional value, or to products that have nutritional value but are considered unhealthy when eaten regularly, or that is considered unhealthy. The term was coined in 1972 by Michael Jacobson, director of the Center for Science in the Public Interest.
Factors contributing to labeling as junk food are high levels of refined sugar, white flour, trans fats and saturated fats, salt, and additives such as preservatives and coloring agents. Others include a lack of protein, vitamins, fiber and other nutrients required for a healthy diet. Junk food has been linked to health problems including obesity, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and dental cavities. The problems with fast food may not be visible to children, so advertising targeted to children has come under criticism.
Most of the children and adults who eat junk food are also inactive. If you mix these two, you get a very serious and unhealthy combination. Our modern lifestyle is the cause of all the problems we have and once you fall into the trap of junk food and inactivity, it is almost impossible to get out of it.
How many people do you know who have tried to eat healthy, lose weight, and train, but have failed? Maybe you are one of them? The reason so many people fail is because of information overload. There are thousands of diets, magic pills, supplements, miraculous weight loss exercise programs and what not. To be honest, 95% of the information is junk and made to dupe you with empty promises.
There is no magic bullet that will make you lose weight and make you look like a supreme athlete. You have to do it the hard way. It is very difficult for people to change their lifestyle. But to stay healthy and lose weight, you have to make changes in your lifestyle. This is the only way.
It’s not impossible to change your habits and start living a healthier life. The most important factor about it is knowledge. If you have the knowledge and know what you need to do to be successful, you’ve already done most of the work.
It is never too late to change your lifestyle. If you have the will and the motivation, nothing can stop you. People need to stop finding useless excuses. You know that junk food is bad for you and if you do not exercise then you may have serious problems. Today can be the first day of the rest of your life. Change today not tomorrow. You’d be surprised what you can really accomplish.
