Like many women, I worry about my weight. And although I maintain a fairly consistent weight, it fluctuates up and down around 10 pounds of fat weight. When I notice that my clothes are starting to get tight, I know it’s time to do something. I know I need to lose body fat fast.

The only problem is that there’s no easy way to do it. As much as I’d love to pop a magic pill or drink a super secret formula, there’s only one way to lose body fat fast. Well I have to say I don’t love the task in front of me when it comes time to lose weight, but I love the results of hard work, when I hit my goal, I feel really good about the accomplishment I do, and I accept it as a flattering compliment. Firstly, it starts with your food intake. Basically, it comes down to calories. The types of food you eat can make a difference, but the biggest factor is to start restricting calories. My changes included eating smaller portions, healthier low-fat foods rich in nutrients, and snacking less. Now that I am a chocoholic, I cannot completely give up bite size candy bars. The second step to losing body fat fast is to increase the intensity level of your cardio workouts. Yes it is work and it requires little effort. But the positive benefits that result from the increased level of intensity make the effort worthwhile. Did you know that if you run at 5.0 mph on a treadmill, you can burn about half the same number of calories as walking at 3.0 mph? In addition, you burn calories at a higher rate even after exercising when you work at a higher intensity than at a lower intensity. Oh, and don’t go anywhere near fat burning mode on any cardio equipment unless you have about two hours in the morning. That program sets us up for failure every single time because most people have no idea how long it takes to exercise in that mode to be effective and get any real results.

The third step to losing body fat fast is to include weight lifting as part of your exercise regimen. Lifting weights by itself doesn’t burn a lot of calories. However, when you have more muscle in your body, your resting metabolism tends to be higher. Lean (muscle) body weight versus fat body weight requires more energy to perform normal bodily functions. And when you’re using more energy, you’re burning more calories. So lean body weight like this burns calories and we have to admit, looks a lot better on us.

For women, there is the fear that lifting weights will lead to excessive muscle growth. Actually it is a myth. Genetically, we can’t be that big. So lifting a heavy weight will ultimately only give you a better physical appearance and still burn the extra calories needed to operate your machine (body). : Park your car further away from the store entrance. Incorporating these changes into my life got me back to my comfortable lean body weight in just a few weeks. This is the best way to lose body fat fast as it is a healthy and natural way to lose weight. Not to mention, by making these actions a habit, I’ve been able to maintain the weight loss and stay at a fairly consistent weight, except when the occasional slide…it’s back to the grindstone. But there is no other way to reduce body fat quickly.
