The term “cookie diet” refers to one of the few diet plans that uses cookies to control hunger in place of food as a means of reducing calorie intake. The cookie diet contains very few calories for those who want to lose weight in the short term.
The first cookie diet was created by Dr. Sanford Siegel in the year 1975 for his patients in the southern part of the state of Florida. The diet included six cookies a day and one dinner. As with very low calorie cookies, it is recommended that if you want to go on this type of diet, you should consult your doctor first. However, if you want to lose weight, instead of having a burger sandwich, you can replace that snack with cookies. Today, Dr. Siegel’s not only serves cookies but also mixes up soups and shakes.
Another cookie diet for weight loss is Smart for Life. This diet was developed by Dr. Sasson Moulvi along with Dr. Siegel last 2002, but later became independent in 2006. It may not have used the recipe created by Dr. Siegel, but the diet plan was almost identical. However, at Smart for Life, it gives importance to having a healthy approach regarding food, exercise, vitamin injections and supplements in addition to diet. This diet requires prior medical consultation.
The latest cookie craze today is the Hollywood Cookie Diet. It is the same with the first two cookie diet plans but this one is available without a prescription. Exercise is not part of the program with this diet.
There are hundreds of cookie diet recipes available through the Internet. This includes making cookies for short term weight loss. Examples are Diabetic Diet Cookies, Diet Chocolate Chip Cookies, Diet Raising Cookies, Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, Quick Diet Cookies, and Diet Applesauce Drop Cookies, Ada French Sponge Cookies, Amish Sugar Cookies to name a few. You can download this recipe without paying anything.
Even if it says that you can start doing this weight loss program using cookies, it is better that you ask a doctor first. They can be very expensive but it will get more expensive if you run into trouble losing significant weight in a short amount of time. In addition, cookie diet recipes include some ingredients that you may be allergic to. A balanced diet and proper exercise are still the best ways to achieve a healthy weight. Remember, the weight done immediately will double in a short period of time.
