I am writing this article because of a common misconception. Most people are not familiar with the definition of weight loss. They don’t know why they want to lose weight. Some people have serious health problems but for most people losing weight is a matter of fashion and beauty. I know you have your own reasons for losing weight but make sure your reason is clear enough to provide you a clear path.
9 out of 10 girls are trying to lose weight everyday. Women are always sad about their increased weight. For teenagers, losing weight is a matter of day-to-day fashion, not a health issue. So what is weight loss? Is it a fashion or health problem?
I know you have been trying to lose weight for some time. Your doctor has recommended that you diet in order to drop a few pounds. How can you tell whether you are overweight or not?
Last week a client asked me this question:
“I have a BMI of 24. I’m happy and healthy. Do you think I should lose weight?”
This question got me thinking. There is no need to lose weight if one is leading a healthy life. In scientific terms, when your doctor invites you to lose weight, he wants you to avoid these diseases:
- heart attack
- raised cholesterol level
- high blood pressure
- diabetes
If you can maintain your health despite your increased weight; There is no need to worry about extra pounds.
However, this is not the case. Most of the people want to lose weight because they want to look smart and attractive. She has no problem with her health but she does not look beautiful.
To live a healthy life, our body stores fat for the reproductive system, to protect nerves and tissues, and to store energy. That’s fine. However, storing too much fat affects your health and body shape.
BMI (Body Mass Index) is a measurement, which gives results based on your height and weight. However, BMI doesn’t tell us about pregnancy, bodybuilding, and many other factors. There are many tests including fat analysis, metabolism checker etc. These tests determine whether you are overweight or not.
If you are an overweight person and have excessive fat then it can pose a health risk.
Losing weight comes into play at this point. What we know from new and old studies is that consuming more calories and burning fewer calories is the most common cause of weight gain. The increased number of calories gets stored in your thighs and hips and causes an increase in your weight. This is the most commonly known definition of “weight gain”.
The term obesity means that your weight is more than the ideal body weight for a certain height. Millions of Americans are overweight or obese. To solve their obesity the term weight loss has been introduced. Losing extra pounds is known as reducing body weight. However, this can be done in a million ways:
- Abstinence
- exercise
- supplies the
- Total
- Chinese traditions like acupuncture and other medical terminology
- joining gym/slimming center
- combination of diet and exercise
As you can see, all these factors are involved in weight loss. To lose weight effectively, all these factors must work in tandem. But before you take action, you should know what weight loss means to you. it’s important. If you want to live a healthy life then you should never do crash dieting plan. In most of the cases people want to look smart and that is why they use schemes like lose weight in 24 hours. Whichever route you choose, it will largely depend on your reason for losing weight.
