8 Possible Reasons Why You’re Not Losing Weight

The natural world at large is influenced by the rhythms of nature – the rising and setting of the sun, the cycle of the seasons and the underlying impulses that guide the wider community of life. While there is often some degree of seasonal variation, many plants and animals adopt a predictable daily rhythm and, as a rule, live by it. As humans, we have largely fallen out of this habit. But at the most basic level, our physiology is adapted to – and supported by – some sense of regularity. Food is no exception to this regularity.

You are not eating the right food. Eat foods that fundamentally match your needs.

You are not eating enough. The concept is simple: eat more of the right food. You are probably thinking, ‘eat more to lose weight’? Surely this cannot be right’. It may sound counterintuitive, but if you really aren’t eating enough of the right foods, then most likely you can’t lose weight.

Ayurveda prescribes different amounts of food at different times depending on your health. If you are consuming more of the wrong foods, it will be difficult to lose weight.

Stress is a seemingly universal aspect of the modern-day human experience, and even though some stress is acceptable, even productive, we now understand that too much stress can be quite harmful, and take a toll on our health physically, mentally, and emotionally. can compromise. Ayurveda offers a beautiful perspective on stress management, especially at mealtimes. Don’t engage in a stressful environment when you eat. Dine in a serene and beautiful environment. If at work, don’t eat at your desk or in your car. Go outside and sit in the park! Also use meditation and breathing exercises to reduce stress.

You are exercising too much. We may actually be doing more harm than good. If we haven’t fueled our bodies properly, exercise can be stressful enough, leading to the production of excess cortisol (the stress hormone), which often leads to weight gain.

You are not getting enough sleep. You guessed it: Lack of sleep or not getting enough time to watch doesn’t just affect our mood and concentration. If you’re not getting enough sleep or sleeping too late, it can actually have an effect on your ability to maintain a healthy weight. On top of that, when you’re tired, your body actually releases more hormones that make you hungry. This means, again, that you think you need food while your body doesn’t really need it.

So, what are the solutions?

In Ayurveda, digestion is the root of all diseases and conditions. When you are eating the wrong food at the wrong time or you do not follow any of these examples then you will not cause the food to digest properly. When food is digested wrongly… “Ama” is formed. Ama is the harbinger of most diseases.

Make sure you are eating enough. Instead of counting calories and obsessing over them, focus on getting yourself lots of fresh produce, whole grains, lean proteins and drinking lots of water so you’re not accidentally overeating when you’re really just dehydrated. Get plenty of sleep too.
