Have you ever looked for weight loss tips and found that you could spend hours, days or even weeks reading up on the inner workings of metabolism and the oxidation metamorphoses of fat producing cells? Well, if you’re anything like me (and I hope you’re not) then you probably want some simple tips for losing weight. So, I have listed some tips for you to lose weight below.
weight loss tips
1. Turn Off the TV or Exercise While Watching TV
Have you ever gone to the movies and ordered a big tub of buttered popcorn and a super size soft drink? Well, it’s amazing how easily you can chug your way across the tub and down a drink without even giving it a thought. For whatever reason, your natural behavior is to keep eating until it’s all gone. Then of course if there are free refills then you have to take advantage of it because it is free, right?
Now when you are at home your eating habits are probably the same but not as noticeable. Instead of a big unhealthy tub of popcorn, you can find yourself some chips and soda, some ice cream or maybe a piece of cake, or whatever your favorite snack food is. The problem is that it’s hard to stop because it’s so convenient to get.
Tips to control TV eating and lose weight;
- Turn off the TV, go outside for a walk, or maybe finish one of those around-the-house projects on your to-do list.
- Exercise on a treadmill or stationary bike while watching the tube.
- Keep any food you eat in front of you while watching TV. You may be in the habit of heading to the kitchen to throw away your empty snack wrappers and bottles, but you probably grab another snack along the way. Limit your trips to where the food is and you won’t be tempted to grab something else that isn’t helping you lose weight.
2. Slow down while eating
Research has shown that it takes about 20 minutes for your brain to receive the message from your stomach that it is full. If you rush your meal, you may not get that “I’m full” feeling and continue eating that way, or look for snacks and get your brain and stomach on the same page.
3. Eat snacks in one dish
You’ll probably eat less if you scoop out a small portion and set the package aside. Eating out of a bag or box will eliminate breakfast in one meal. This one of the weight loss tips is very simple and very helpful to meet your weight loss goal.
4. Replace Sugary Drinks
One of the biggest battles many people face when trying to lose weight is drinking lots of water and cutting down on sugar-laden beverages. The problem is, sugar-laden beverages can easily add 450 calories per day to your diet. Put yourself on a water drinking schedule where you drink a glass of water 6 to 8 times per day. Treat it as if you were taking prescribed medication. If you do this, you will find that over time your craving for sugary drinks will decrease.
5. Eat More Often
I know this recipe for weight loss is strange, but don’t laugh too much. Studies have shown that if you eat every three hours, you will have more energy, you will not feel hungry and thus you will avoid overeating when you do get a chance to eat. For example, skipping breakfast may make you feel like you’re making progress toward your weight loss goal, but by the end of the day you’ll have eaten more snacks and regular meals than you did at breakfast.
Eating meals at regular times, including a good mix of protein, fat, fiber and carbs, is one of the tips to lose weight.
I know losing weight can be frustrating at times when you think you are doing the right thing but are not seeing any results. May I suggest that you keep going because you will fail if you stop trying to eat healthy and stop doing any sort of exercise to lose weight.
